Joanna Jurek from Poland developed a noninvasive method/treatment of a drug delivery to cancer cells that tackled pancreatic cancer through the bloodstream rather than affecting the heart. She was 17 years old at the time (18 years old now). Jurek’s cutting-edge project won the first prize at the International Science Failr E(x)plory 2014 in Gdynia. She also competed in the U.S. in a prestigious competition for young scientists Intel ISEF (Intel International Science and Engeneering Fair).
